A modern take on stoic philosophy.
What is NeoStoicism?
Neo = A new or revived form of.
Stoicism = A philosophy based on basic truths.
If you are not familiar with the origin philosophy I’ve outlined a brief summary:
The single most important practice in Stoic philosophy is differentiating between what we can change and what we can’t. What we have influence over and what we do not.
A practicing Stoic has goals that they want to achieve, and they work hard in pursuit of those goals, but they also know that they’re not entitled to success.
You refuse to be a passive victim of your circumstances. You work hard to make your life better, to make the world better. You are proactive. Even if you’re going through Hell, you keep going.
Stoicism is a school of philosophy founded by Zeno in Athens in the early 3rd century BC
While Stoicism holds timeless truths, core ideas in Stoicism that preach death and suffering acceptance have become outdated.
NeoStoicism believes in the chance for decreasing suffering, increasing health span, and making death optional.
Because our actions COULD change whether or not we suffer or get a chance to continue we should do EVERYTHING in our power to ensure that.
Because our actions CAN change whether or not our parents live with us into the future, or how much they suffering in their old age means we should do EVERYTHING in our power to improve their odds of living longer and healthier.
Because our actions MIGHT be the difference in humanity existing forward into the cosmos or not, we should do EVERYTHING in our power to give humanity the best chance.
The bridge over mortality awaits, the chance one could only dream of.
We either succeed or die trying, there’s nothing to lose but everything to gain.
When death was inevitable we had to come to peace with it, but now that we can oppose it we have to say peace to it.
Neostoic philosophy is about bringing into the forefront of our lives, the idea that we now can effect suffering and death.
A Quick Thought Experiment:
If you woke up in the middle of a lake, and you can’t see land but you have the knowledge that it may be in reach...
What would you do?
Most people of course answer that they would swim.
Is this human life not the same exact thought experiment being played out? We KNOW we may be in reach of making death option (finding land) so WE MUST swim (fight for human healthspan)
How can we fight?
One Story Linked HERE shows the power of the tiniest actions we take. Think of how your actions will change if you or your family will lay on the death bed, ill with dementia and sadness. And if you already lost ones you loved, read this article on why you should probably make sure things go right for humanity. (Hint: Maybe we can bring them back)
While a more esteemed goal would be making the whole lot of humans that are suffering from old age not have to, for most this doesn’t have the same appeal as the direct family relationship does. Thinking of our family or significant others suffering strikes a deep chord, while the global suffering that continues lacks personal connection to kickstart the emotional fire in the mind. The emotions you need to feel that push.
There is a similar effect observed in “The Drowning Child” thought experiment which goes over the how any person walking past a drowning child would have a moral obligation and will to save them even if it meant a major inconvenience to them. The thought experiment continues to ponder over the thought of how, in our interconnected society in this age of information, we are all within reach of people whose lives we can save. However, the abstraction of the process does not allow our emotions to align with this simple notion.
The idea of regret in living a life in which we don't fight for our personal loved ones to suffer less is enough for most of us to feel empowered and driven, while the abstraction of the millions of other parents who still need our help is more difficult for the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain, to process.
In a sense then, the logical understanding that the same help that benefits our own parents, will benefit the hundred of millions of others who are going to suffer through old age is a great way to align our old operating system of emotions to the utilitarian prefrontal cortex part of the brain.
For some, the direct benefit to self is the biggest motivator. Because we are all subject to the slow rot of the aging process, our own suffering and loss of our body is at stake.
I mean…. its a life or death situation.
We are like a slave with a master, whose shown a chance to break free.
From a small blue planet we have become conscious. Before our universe birthed consciousness, there was no beauty, as beauty only exists as a conscious experience, and before there were beings to sense it there was no sense of beauty. Here on earth we disagree on many things but tend to agree that life is beautiful.
With the spawn of cellular life came the pursuit of goals. With beings emerging who had goals and came into self-awareness came the idea of greater meaning and purpose. Had our universe never birthed consciousness it would have been completely pointless. Merely a gigantic waste of space, and if we went back to sleep it would become meaningless again. Does this mean our very existence is meaning in it of itself. If you can believe it, it can be true. It has meaning because you get to say that it does.
And you just so happen to be born right when the boundaries of limitation are looking to get broken, right when man enters a breakthrough period of creating something truly greater than US. But this story is still going, and you get to change how it all plays out and even if just a small impact this video shows how large that could actually be. The bridge from mortals to demi-gods is here to cross.
We don’t yet know if we are the only conscious beings, or the first. But we do know that we are here and our species has not locked in it’s place in this universe. We do know that the greatest quest we could have ever dreamed for is before us, waiting for us to take charge.
We could live on and spread gloriously throughout the cosmos, and it may be based on the little decisions we make here on this planet, during our life.
This website, this philosophy, is a call to action, for a fight for meaning and for your existence.
Do not suppress that fear of going into that good night. Rage, rage, against the dying of the light. For many years are ahead, and what else could be right? Feel the emotion, channel it, and fight.
And if you cant do it for the world, can you at least do it for yourself? Can you imagine your slow rot, and beg for it to not. Can you imagine a future that makes you a bit excited to stay? Can you imagine how things could be in 10,000 more days.
If you do not want to fight for yourself, is there anyone you’ve found worth fighting for? Is there family, or loved ones, or even a pet? And if there's no loved ones now, don’t fret. That only means there's no loved ones yet.
For there's many many more for you to meet and see. Just have faith. Have faith in WHATEVER you can. Have faith in faith itself.
If you wont fight for them, and if you wont fight for you, can I show you the world and have you fight too?

Beyond the ideas shared here, a deeper theory is gaining traction deemed “Galactic Preschool Theory”. It’s not only an awesome theory but statistically LIKELY. In that case, we truly are still babies of the cosmos. Growing up, in the final stage of dystopia.
DONT INCLUDE ANY TREXT AFTER THIS PART
To my parents:
If I got a disease that was terminal but and was going to die in 20-30 years would you guys
This is how I can have my parents understand me. I could live forever having saved them, but to not would be hell.
In order to break the matrix you just break the human condition.
Our human condition is our matrix restricting our ability to manifest.
This novel ability to manifest has never been more pertinent. Momentum has arrived for our raise to begin.
Questioning whether we are a small part of something grander, after coming to understand there over 100 billion other galaxies out there.
The bridge over mortality is yours to cross
The bridge over mortality is near
I cannot escape death, but at least I can escape the fear of it.
— Epictetus 50 AD
Before I became old I tried to live well; now that I am old, I shall try to die well; but dying well means dying gladly.
— Lucius Annaeus Seneca
I can escape death, and the act of trying gives me purpose and meaning. The act of success may mean eternal fulfillment.
— Jack Jay 2020
Before I became old I tried to live well; now that I am old, I shall try to die well; but dying can never be considered well. I wish I had focused more on what was important in my youth. I still can help alot, and will devote the rest of my life to doing so.
— Justice Webber 2021
Don’t behave as if you are destined to live forever. Death hangs over you. While you live, while it is in your power FIGHT. Do not go gently into that good night.
— Marcus Meza 2022
Remember also that each man lives only the present moment: The rest of the time is either spent and gone, or is quite unknown. It is a very little time which each man lives, and in a small corner of the earth; and the longest surviving fame is but short, and this conveyed through a succession of poor mortals, each presently a-dying; men who neither knew themselves, nor the persons long since dead.
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 2.10
